He grew up fascinated with airplanes and helicopters.  At the age of 16, he participated in an Aviation Explorer program at the Youngstown Air Force Base and took his first demo flight in a Cessna 152 shortly after.  It was after this that he made up his mind about being a pilot.  After graduating high school, he obtained my private pilot’s license in a Piper Cherokee and made his way to Las Vegas to learn the art of flying helicopters.  At the age of 20, he became a flight instructor.  He began teaching students how to fly and absolutely loved it.  The sense of accomplishment when the student solos for the first time, or the passing of a check ride, fueled his drive to teach.  The mountains near Las Vegas proved, for him, to be a lot of fun to fly around and provided exhilarating views.

In 2006, he moved to the Kansas City area and began teaching in Olathe, KS under the name of Stellar Copters.  Word of mouth spread and the business began to grow.  He flew four different R-44s and 2 R-22s.  He specialized in flight instruction and tours; however his abilities led him to a lot of different opportunities.  Flying a news chopper, motion picture aerial support, informational videos, infrared photography, commercials, golf ball drops, Easter Egg drops, and aerial scouting are just a few of the things that he has done from a helicopter.

In the summer of 2016, Stellar Copters was relocated to the northeast Ohio region.  Flying out of Geneva, OH we provide tours of the Lake Erie shoreline, Ashtabula Harbor, wineries, and covered bridges.  In Pittsburgh, we depart from the Allegheny County Airport and provide tours of downtown Pittsburgh and its outlying areas.  We also operate in Cleveland, OH from the Burke Lakefront Airport and provide tours of the Lake Erie shoreline, Downtown Cleveland, and its outlying areas.
